These designs are freestanding lace-designs. They should be sewn on water-soluble material.
I recommend two or three layers of Soluvlies from Freudenberg or Vilene. I also prefer the use of polyester or metallic thread for embroidering these designs. The doilies are completely done in the hoop. No extra sewing in necessary.
